Gangneung Asan Hospital News: Accreditation as a ‘Korean Advanced Life Support’ Training Center!

Gangneung Asan Hospital recently obtained accreditation as a Korean Advanced Life Support (KALS Provider) training center from the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (KACPR) and will conduct its first training session on the 14th.
Following its designation as a Korean Basic Life Support (KBLS Provider) training center in October last year, the hospital has now secured KALS Provider status, further strengthening the emergency medical education system within the region.
As a result, an environment has been established where medical staff and students from related departments, who previously had to travel to the Yeongseo or Seoul metropolitan areas to obtain certification, can now receive advanced life support training locally.
Korean Advanced Life Support is a simulation-based training program for cardiac arrest situations occurring within hospitals. It systematically trains healthcare professionals to enhance their emergency response capabilities, including advanced airway management, ECG rhythm analysis, manual defibrillation, drug administration, and team-based treatment.
The training is available to healthcare professionals (doctors, dentists, nurses, and level 1 emergency medical technicians), professors of emergency medical technology, and final-year students in medicine (3rd and 4th year), nursing, and emergency medical technology. Applications can be submitted through the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (KACPR) website (www.kacpr.org).
